Seeking Office Efficiency and Outstanding Location

Turner Construction Moves Its Upstate New York Office to 1 Computer Drive

Turner Construction LogoWe’re pleased to welcome the New York North headquarters of Turner Construction Company to its new home at 1 Computer Drive South.

Turner Construction, the largest general contractor in the U.S., has been serving the Capital District for over 100 years. The New York North office is responsible for all New York state construction projects outside of the five boroughs. In our area, these include the Colonie Center Expansion, EMPAC, Emma Willard, The Ciccotti Center, and South Colonie Schools. The Special Projects Division is a general contracting business with self-performing trade capabilities such as demolition, concrete, carpentry, and drywall. They are handling projects such as the recent Albany Hilton Renovation, Times Union Printing press project, and the Siena Trustco Administration Building.

According to vice president Carl E. Stewart, the new office will house more workers in less space. But beyond seeking a more efficient layout, the company was also looking for a convenient location that would be good for employees.

“Since our business covers all of upstate NY, the location is more about making our staff comfortable than supporting our business model,” he explained. “Wolf Road offers so much to our employees in terms of dining and shopping. Everyone is looking forward to the move.”

According to Stewart, another important requirement was the service orientation of The Anderson Group management team.

“We want to work with a property manager who is interested in the relationship for the life of the lease,” he explained. “Andy Anderson has been great to work with. Throughout the entire negotiation, he and his team demonstrated flexibility. We appreciated their willingness to meet our needs. We are looking forward to building a strong relationship.”
